I am a materials scientist with a strong interest in small scale materials testing and characterization. I received my undergraduate education at Lehigh University where I became interested in electron microscopy. I then went on to do a Masters at Stanford University. Prior to continuing my graduate studies I worked at Boeing Satellite Systems where I worked as a Materials and Processes Engineer in electronic materials. After gaining experience in industry I returned to my graduate studies at UC Berkeley to obtain my PhD in materials science where I was co-advised by Andy Minor and Peter Hosemann. My graduate studies focused on small scale mechanical testing of materials in extreme environments, i.e materials at extreme temperatures as well as irradiated materials.
