Christoph’s research interests cover energy and environmental economics, industrial organization, and optimization. His research mostly centers around intermittent renewables and their impacts on power markets. During his two-year stay at UC Berkeley, he will develop power market models in systems with intermittent renewables as well as storage. The goal of this research is to benchmark the outcomes of those models against real market outcomes to evaluate the trade-off between accuracy and cost.
